Hello people !

I hope you are safe and well. I just want to share this beautiful and inspiring video from youtube which gives a introduction to Islam. Its short, simple and gets direct to what beliefs we Muslim hold. Don't worry it only takes up 5 minutes.

Jemima khan recieves death threats from extremists !

Jemima Khan has received death threats from Islamic extremists for supporting a Muslim group which preaches tolerance of other religions.

Mrs Khan, 34, is a patron of the Quilliam Foundation, a think tank that was recently set up by two reformed members of the extremist organisation Hizb ut Tahrir.

The group has received death threats by phone and email that are intended for all members involved in the organisation and it has been reported that one even referred to Mrs Khan by name.

During the launch of the think tank yesterday, Mrs Khan, the former wife of Imran Khan, who previously captained Pakistan’s cricket team, admitted she had been nervous about voicing her support for the group.

She said she had been “a little wobbly”, adding, “if there was no response from the dark side, then we would be failing.”

The organisation is named after William Quilliam, a 19th century convert to Islam who founded England’s first mosque and Islamic centre.

It was set up by Maajid Nawaz, 30, a former extremist who spent four years as a political prisoner in Egypt.

Both Lord Ashdown, the former Liberal Democrat leader, and Tory MP Michael Gove are supporters of the organisation which says it aims to reflect mainstream, moderate and British Muslim opinion.

It has received criticism on Muslim websites however and one site even labels Mrs Khan as a “fujiar”, an Arabic word describing someone who un ashamedly and publicly commits sin.

The website has posted pictures of Mrs Khan wearing a bikini and says “This is the same 'socialite’ Jemima who is regularly pictured in chick mags in mini skirts and low-cut dresses hopping in and out of nightclubs - and she is going to be lecturing us on true Islam?!”.

It adds: “Getting unmarried, public fujiar, clad in miniskirts and bikinis, to lecture us on true Islamic values, man what has the world come to?”

The site also criticises Mr Nawaz for engaging in what it terms “un-Islamic” behaviour, such as visiting nightclubs and socialising with a former girlfriend.

iphone 16gb ! - April phone of the month !

Wooohoo Apple have made the Iphone bigger and better. Yup 16gb, that should be enough to save video and music on but still no sign of 3G. The version iphone 16gb will be on most peoples list as some demand more space.

The new device, which will be able to store up to 4,000 songs, will cost £329. The 8GB model, which can store up to 2,000 tracks, will still be available at the price of £269.

More than 4 million IPhones have been sold since the product launched in the United States in July last year. British consumers got their hands on the device - which combines a touchscreen wireless web browser with an iPod music player and a mobile phone - last November.

"For some users, there's never enough memory," said Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president of worldwide iPod and iPhone marketing.

"As music collections become bigger, we now have even more content you can put on these devices, and people are always seeking the ability to put more and more on. Doubling the amount of storage in each of the products is a pretty good way to go."

However, the new iPhone 16gb will still not run on the 3G mobile phone network for high-speed internet access, as Apple says that the chips needed to run 3G handsets are still too power hungry, and will drain the iPhone's battery life too quickly.

This sounds pleasing but 3G Iphone is on my list and I hope we will see it at the end of this year. They could also Improve the camera to make it compete better with the N95. Anyway the Phone is a winner and with a 16gb this is 1 hungry device that needs to be fed.

Update : Calzaghe wins the fight ! Hopkins managed to floor calzaghe in the first but it didnt affect Calzaghe. From there it was a very messy fight for 12 rounds and Calzaghe just manages to win on points. I thought it was a draw as both fighters gave it there best !

Hopkins - '' There is no bruise on my face and the world knows I gave it my best and calzaghe got some bruises from me ''

Calzaghe - All smiles and celebratation with father enzo and all cheers in the crowd. He still has a undisputed record ! There are already rumors for a Calzaghe v Roy Junior Jones fight but we will have to wait and see as calzaghe is in no hurry.

Muslim baby names !

It's always a joy when Allah blesses you with a child. Children bring happiness and joy, but also trials and great responsibilities. One of the very first duties you have toward your new child, besides physical care and love, is to give your child a name that carries honor and Islamic meaning behind it.

Muslims must choose a name that has a righteous meaning, that will befit and bring blessings to the child throughout his or her life.

It is reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection, you will be called by your names and by your fathers' names, so give yourselves good names."
(Hadith Abu Dawud).

Boy called Islam' banned from french tv game show !

Just came across this article which was displayed on the blog in the Islam latest news section ...

The parents of a nine-year old French boy called Islam are to sue a television company for discrimination after it allegedly refused to let him participate in a game show unless he changed his name.

Anyhow the idiots would not have minded if the boy was called 'France' or the 'Eiffel tower' lol, but when it comes to Islam they get a little annoyed. How sad ! Well as long as a apology was given then I guess its all good.
